Dilated Pupil Examination by your Eye Doctor
Your eye doctor sometimes needs to dilate your pupil to look at your retina or optic disc in more detail in conditions such as
- Diabetes
- Retina tear or holes
- Retina conditions
- Age-related Macular Degeneration
After Pupil Dilation Examination
It may take up to 24-48 hours for the pupil to return to its normal size and for your vision to be clear again. Do be patient as the time may vary from person to person. After pupil dilation, you can do any normal activities but do be careful when driving or walking up and down stairs.
